From the Desk of Laurie Katz Berrien

Updated: Aug 7, 2024

Hi, I’m Laurie Katz Berrien. I’m running for the vice-chair position of the Bucks County Republican

Committee.

I’m addressing this in an email because I have 3 minutes to present myself to the group at the

reorganization on 6/22/24 and can’t cover all that I’d like to address. I truly appreciate your time to

read my thoughts on this subject.

Every group has value, whether you agree with the leader’s tactics or not – our own leaders, if

they’re smart, will recognize this and use the group for their superpowers.

Hope for PA is a faith-based group with a focus on local school boards. That’s who you contact

when you need help or want to support your public school kids.

Mom’s For Liberty is a group that fights for parents’ rights in education.

Maria Miller’s New Hope for our Nation is an active group in many lanes and also has a large group

of motivated power door knockers.

Beth Roth has a great and active group in the Election Integrity lane.

Right for Bucks also has a large group of motivated power door knockers who work hard to fill empty

committee seats and the group also has an excellent in-person committee training program. A smart

leader sees this value and taps into it.

Let’s remember that Right for Bucks is an offshoot of the Tea Party, the Kitchen Table Patriots and

the Thomas Jefferson Group, which was in response to the fundamental change Obama was

imposing on America in 2010. The main purpose was to fill the empty committee seats that the

Republican party neglected to fill.

These are all considered across-the-aisle groups that you may be dissuaded from participating

in. Our team doesn’t belong to any one group, but sees value and is a part of all.

As a leader, it will be my active goal to expand our tent. I will seek out individuals that have the

same goals and are committed to conservative principles. We can choose to cast stones, but please

remember that we all come from the same proverbial basket of deplorables, as Hillary Clinton said.

We will bring different clubs together to work with each other and encourage inter-township

outreach; for example, if one club or area has empty seats, we’ll call the surrounding township

committee people to look at lists of residents (that could be your superpower), stuffing envelopes

(this could be your contribution), seeking people to fill those empty committee seats (vetting

included, of course) – or door knocking…and, yes, we would call on Right for Bucks and New Hope

For Our Nation, because we can’t cut our nose to spite our face when we want to win!

We need to recognize that we all have the same goal here but different ways of getting there. This

is a way forward, to mend division. We should not judge people without taking the time to get to

know each other first – it’s in the Bible. I’m human too, and always try to do better, but make

mistakes sometimes – I will NOT punish you if you call me out on them; I will try to do better.

We are a great team and we will work hard for our constituents. If you do not like someone, you can

work with someone else on our team. Our team is equally qualified and experienced working with

many different personalities. We welcome any and all of you to work with us on the many tasks our

team will have in order to bring home wins for Bucks County. Please look at our resumes and talk to

people who have worked with us.

People can have personality and style conflicts, but it would be short-sighted or shooting yourself in

the foot to pass over the rest of the team and this unique opportunity because of a personal grudge

against one.

We’re at a crossroad in our county and country – we can stick with what we know, which obviously

isn’t working because we’re consistently losing and divided, or we can take a chance, and perhaps

win the lottery, like we did with Trump.

Einstein: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over & expecting a different result.

We humbly ask for your courage and your vote.
